His dreams of unification in the heavyweight division received a devastatingly huge blow after he was soundly defeated by Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Joshua conceded his four belts after the completion of 12 rounds in which Usyk dominated from start to finish, threatening the knockout late on - with the bell strangely sounding six seconds too early.
As well as expected following Joshua's loss it has now been confirmed that he will now trigger his rematch clause with Usyk to attempt to win his belts back.
