Coronation Street's Vicky Myers, who portrays detective Lisa Swain on the iconic cobbles, has revealed to OK! that she'll be spending New Year's Eve at home with a 'glass of something' and watching the New Year celebrations and fireworks from her cosy living room.
However, on the small screen, there are set to be even more fireworks as Vicky's character's relationship with factory boss Carla Connor, played by Alison King, is about to get a lot more intense.
Regular Corrie viewers will know that the two women have been growing closer recently, a bond that began when Carla became a supportive friend for the stressed-out detective dealing with her teenage daughter and the missing Lauren Bolton case.
Just before Christmas, Carla announced to the factory workers that they were now an item. But in the Rovers Return on New Year's Eve, Carla takes it up a level and confesses to Lisa that she's actually fallen in love with her. "It absolutely floors Lisa," Vicky shares with us. "She's just come in from work and goes to the Rovers to celebrate the New Year.
