Coronation Street star Rob Mallard has a secret admirer. Known for playing the soap's Daniel Osbourne since 2016, following short stints on Emmerdale and the Channel 4 university comedy Fresh Meat, the 31 year old was recently asked if he'd ever been handed gifts by fans.
At the British Soap Awards, where Corrie scooped six trophies, he told The Daily Star: "I get a Valentine's card from the same person every year, they don't put their name in it but I know it's the same person. "You know when you're a kid and you write something out and you write over it eight or nine times to the point where it looks like it's been written over eight or nine times?
It comes to me every year in the same style handwriting in the office and I don't know who it is. "Whoever it is who's doing it, can you put your name in it please because it's driving me mad!" Rob went on to plead.
Meanwhile, his Weatherfield alter-ego Daniel is being put through the emotional wringer at the moment, with wife-to-be Daisy Midgeley growing dangerously closer to acid attack victim Ryan Connor, who saved her from disfiguration earlier this year.
