In an emotional farewell, Coronation Street viewers will witness Paul Foreman's heart-wrenching MND storyline come to its conclusion this week.
Billy Mayhew is in a desperate dash to reach his husband Paul's side as actor Peter Ash, who first graced the cobbles in 2018, takes his final bow in the show.
Paul's tragic battle with Motor Neurone Disease has seen him lose his speech and motor skills over the past year. "It was absolutely emotional," revealed Peter Ash, reflecting on his departure scenes. "It was very hard not to reach when they're saying their goodbyes and I'm pretending to be on the way out." After a night out with David leads to some much-needed levity, Billy ( Daniel Brocklebank ) realizes in horror that he's misplaced his phone, which holds precious memories of Paul.
Meanwhile, Paul is found unconscious on the couch by Summer and Bernie, who are powerless to contact Billy. "Billy is full of regret, full of fear," Daniel reveals. "He starts to retrace his steps but obviously he's panicking because he needs to be contactable 24/7 because of Paul.
