Gary is currently in prison, after taking the blame for Adam Barlow's attack - with his sister Faye being the real culprit in a case of mistaken identity.
He's also being grilled over the disappearance of Rick Neelan, who he actually murdered in 2019. With both events taking centre stage, it would be easy for the character to make an exit soon.
