Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank has explained why he's 'really glad' that Paul Foreman has passed away.The actor, who plays Billy Mayhew on the hit ITV soap, has been at the heart of the storyline with his on-screen partner Paul (played by Peter Ash) who heartbreakingly died after a battle with motor neurone disease.
In tear-jerking scenes on Monday, 9 September, Paul tragically passed away before Billy could say goodbye in person. Billy tried to say goodbye to his partner on the phone, but by the time he sorted a broken phone, Paul had just passed away, although Bernie didn't tell him this and said he heard him before he died.
The episode had viewers in tears, while the storyline also affected Daniel personally, who has experienced the impact of MND from his grandfather's diagnosis.
During a Coronation Street press day, Daniel spoke about Paul's MND storyline and revealed: "I’m really glad that it’s coming to an end, because it’s been exhausting, but I’m hugely proud of what we’ve been able to do.
