Claire Sweeney has broken cover after splitting from Ricky Hatton following a romance that was sparked on Dancing On Ice just eight months ago.The Coronation Street star, 53 and boxer, 46, met on the ITV ice skating show at the start of this year before confirming their romance after a string of secret dates and a holiday to Tenerife.

However, the couple have parted ways just months after making their relationship public and speaking fondly about their connection.

A source told the Mail Online: "Claire and Ricky remain good friends, there has been no fallout between them.They decided they're better off as pals and are no longer romantically together." They added: "They enjoyed their time as a couple and have plenty of shared interests, but their lifestyles are very different." The source also mentioned that Claire is putting her "heart and soul into her career", while Ricky is more "freewheeling and unpredictable".The soap star has reportedly been "consoled by celebrity friends" and fellow Coronation Steet co-stars.
