Coronation Street star Sam Robertson has hinted it could be time to "hang up Adam's suit", as the job has "taken over his life".The actor has played Adam Barlow for nearly six consecutive years after making his soap return in 2016; he originally played Adam from 2004 until 2007.But his latest storyline, which has seen him clash with wife Sarah over first the amount of women Adam has slept with and then with the gift of an oven for her birthday, seems to be grating on him, as he couldn't help but take a swipe at ITV scripts.Speaking to Daily Star and other press, Sam said: "It’s been tough for Tina [O'Brien] and I to do a lot of arguments. Tina and I have gone from working together having fun and having a lot of harmony with the material to suddenly being at each other's throats again."At first I was a little bit troubled by it - we did a storyline a year before when Adam has a fling with Carla and there was trouble with Adam and Sarah’s marriage then."I felt personally that so soon after that, can we do another story about Adam and Sarah having trouble again?"He added: "So it has been tough to do that again 12 months after going through it and getting through it."When I was told about it I was a little troubled by it, but like a lot of these things - when you’re given one of these storylines with the emotional stuff it’s quite challenging mentally, physically and all that."Sometimes it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel when you’re in the middle of it.
