Ayrshire hospitals have recorded an incredible increase of coronavirus patients over the weekend.In the past 24 hours a record-breaking high of 217 patients are fighting COVID-19 in NHS Ayrhsire & Arran hospitals.The spike in numbers is the biggest single-day increase of hospital patients since the pandemic began.The rise is an increase of 12 from yesterday and has almost doubled in the space of a month.A total of 12 people are in Ayrshire ICUs - an increase of two from yesterday.The grim news comes as the region recorded another 125 cases, bringing Ayrshire's total to 12,024.Across Scotland 1,341 new cases — which represents 9.5 per cent of those newly tested — have been recorded in the past 24 hours with the country's total now at.
