The real-life mum of the twins that play toddler Oliver Battersby's character in Coronation Street has been targeted by trolls.

Lia Holmes has been subjected to online abuse for letting her four-year-old sons Emmanuel and Jeremiah play the tragic character on Corrie, who is due to lose his battle with mitochondrial disease on the ITV soap.

Lia has spoken out about how her decision to help raise awareness of the genetic condition has been soured by a number of viewers who slammed her for doing it.
