Coronation Street's Peter Ash 'emotional' as he details final scenes with 'all his favourites'

Coronation Street star Peter Ash was left emotional as he saw his final scenes for the first time. The actor will bow out of the ITV soap next week as Paul Foreman, six years after he first took on the role.

Paul was actually first introduced to Corrie viewers when he shared a prison cell with David Platt back in May 2018. However, the character didn't officially appear in Weatherfield until January 2019, when he arrived looking for his twin sister, Gemma.

But as fans know, Paul was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in April 2023. The former builder was told had had the life-shortening disease, in which messages from the motor neurones gradually stop reaching the muscles, shortly after being knocked over by Carla Connor in an Underworld van. There were also difficult scenes Paul's husband Billy Mayhew discovered that Paul had been secretly planning to take matters into his own hands and decide when his life would come to an end as his symptoms caused by the life-limiting disease progress.
