Coronation Street legend Sue Cleaver, who plays Eileen Grimshaw in the ITV soap, has reportedly announced she is quitting the programme.

The actress, 61, has been a staple on the cobbles since 2000, but has now decided to leave after 25 years. Eileen has been at the centre of some of the soap's most memorable storylines with her sons Jason Grimshaw and Todd Grimshaw, as well as her famous scrap with Gail Platt.

Outside of Coronation Street, Sue was a contestant on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here in 2022, and also joined the Loose Women panel in 2024.

Now it appears that Sue has set her sights on new projects, but will remain on Corrie until late Spring, reports The Mirror.
