Coronation Street's Bruce Jones, who played the unforgettable character Les Battersby, has expressed his disappointment over his character reportedly being killed off.The 71 year old actor, who brought life to the larger-than-life character from 1997 to 2007, was allegedly informed of Les's demise via email.
In 2007, Bruce was caught on camera insulting fans and revealing secret plot lines during a night out, leading to his suspension and eventual departure from the show.
Now, upon learning about his character's death, Bruce has voiced his frustration, claiming that despite fans wanting him back on the show, the bosses are turning a deaf ear. "[Show bosses] already emailed me a over a fortnight ago to tell me what was happening," he told MailOnline. "I actually thought, well fine, I played him for ten years.
It gives me closure. Maybe it will stop people asking me all the time when I'm going back, if I'm going back." He added: "People want me back, but it'll stop all that, in shopping centres, wherever I go.
