Coronation Street fans have said it's a 'shame' as they were left divided over news that Bernie Winter has a secret son. When daughter Gemma realised she'd been lying about her whereabouts, she asked her mum's partner Dev Alahan to do some digging.

During the first trip of the week to Weatherfield on Monday (May 12), fans of the ITV soap saw Dev confront Bernie, who crumbled and admitted she had another son, Zodiac, who was taken into care.

She explained how he was later adopted and his name was changed to Christopher Green and she's been trying to find him. Despite being shocked, Dev supported Bernie's quest as she continued her search for the child she gave away thirty years ago.

She had hope when she tracked down a man with the same name and of the right age and pretended to be an agency cleaner so she could get into his house.
