Coronation Street fans say Super Soap Week drama 'stolen' by 'legend' character - and it's not Stephen or Jenny

While viewers of the ITV soap knew Stephen's reign was coming to an end, there were a number of twists and turns before the desperately broke businessman left the cobbles - for good.
Before his exit, Stephen turned on his own family by attacking Sarah Barlow and threatening Jenny Connor as he pleaded for his passport.
The confrontation then spilled onto the street in front of the Rovers Return where Stephen's horrified family watched on. With his passport back, Stephen looked set to spare Jenny thanks to his mother Audrey Roberts' appearance in front of him.
