Viewers of the ITV soap are aware that the much-loved character will be saying goodbye to the cobbles by the end of the year.
It comes after Gail actress Helen Worth, 73, announced earlier this year that she would be leaving the soap after 50 years in the role of the matriarch of Platt family.
It was said at the time that her final scenes would air by the end of 2024. But fans were left fearing her exit was coming much sooner after Gail was rushed to hospital after a row at home with her children left her clutching her chest.
