Coronation Street viewers were left baffled this evening as Faye Windass was sentenced to three years in prison. Faye, played by Ellie Leach, attacked Adam Barlow after believing it was actually Ray Crosby, who had used his position as her boss to coerce her into having sex with her and attempted to rape her.

But despite Faye pleading guilty to GBH after being sexually assaulted, because Ray had pled not guilty to rape and was considered innocent in the eyes of the law, Faye was issued with the maximum sentence.

And fans were left incredibly confused and flocked to Twitter to comment. One wrote: "3 years though. Thats harsh on Faye #Corrie." While another commented: "Poor Faye I can't believe she has got 3 years #Corrie." A third wrote:
