ok.co.ukKing Charles’ Coronation is now just 48 hours away. The 74 year old monarch will be officially crowned alongside Queen Consort Camilla at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, 6 May - with excitement across the country building and preparations continuing.
It will be the first British Coronation of the 21st century - and the first in 70 years - since the King’s mother Queen Elizabeth II was officially crowned on 2 June, 1953.
Buckingham Palace said Charles' big day would reflect the monarch’s role today and looking towards the future - while being rooted in long standing traditions and pageantry of the past.
Across the weekend, people from around the UK will be coming together to celebrate the historic occasion On Sunday, 7 May, the Coronation Concert will be held in front of a crowd of 20,000 at Windsor Castle, while also being broadcast across BBC television and radio stations.
