Cops seize £27,000 of drugs from properties in Paisley and Elderslie

Drug squad cops have seized £27,000 of heroin, cocaine, cannabis and Etizolam from two properties during early-morning raids.Officers from the force’s Alcohol and Violence Reduction Unit and Paisley’s community policing team swooped in on two locations in Elderslie and Paisley’s west end around 9.30am on Tuesday.They carried out an extensive search of both properties where they uncovered large quantities of pills, white and brown powder, herbal plants and resin believed to be the Class-A, B and C drugs.The drugs recovered have been sent away for testing and are understood to have a street value of £27,000.Inspector Laura Hamill, of Paisley’s community policing team said: “Officers in possession of search warrants issued under the Misuse of Drugs Act attended at addresses in Elderslie and Paisley’s west end at.“Following searches of both properties, officers involved with the Violence Reduction Unit and Paisley’s community policing team recovered a large quantity of what is believed to be cocaine, heroin, Etizolam pills and cannabis resin and plants.Don't miss the latest headlines from around Renfrewshire.
