police officer was hit on the head with a hammer as an angry mob of vigilante protesters hounded a sex offender from his home in Kilmarnock.James Brown, 30, was removed from the Onthank area of Kilmarnock on Monday evening after his early prison release.The brute had been sentenced to 18 months behind bars for filming himself sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend Nicole Rorison, 27, while she slept.Brown had moved back to a property on Hareshaw Gardens, Onthank and was hounded at his door by a mob of around 250 furious locals around 7pm on October 26.A police officer was struck on the head with a hammer thrown by a member of the crowd who had gathered outside the house.Cops are now appealing for information from witnesses after the hammer.
