The official public consulation is now underway on the construction of a new Gartcosh Primary; while residents of an estate transferred into North Lanarkshire four years ago are finally set to see their school catchments rezoned.Families are being invited to give their views on the proposals to build a doubled-capacity Gartcosh school on the open space and football pitch at Woodneuk Avenue and Johnston Road in the growing residential area.Meanwhile, the council is now proposing that the seven streets of the Dunlop estate in Cardowan – which was moved out of its previous Glasgow designation at residents’ request and into the Stepps, Chryston & Muirhead ward – are finally included in the catchment areas of nearby Chryston schools.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
