North Lanarkshire Council’s Conservative group succeeded in gaining support for a motion calling for greater police presence on school campuses.The motion, presented at the final meeting of the council’s term, was presented by Tory representatives Bob Burgess and Colin Cameron.It read: “NLC is fully aware of the benefits of our campus police initiative, instructs our education officials to compile a paper, with the collaboration of Police Scotland, to progress the initiative and consider its expansion into high schools which are indicating they are in need of the help and support that a campus based police officer can provide.”The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
