mirror.co.ukConor McGregor will earn $20million (£15m) from his rematch with Dustin Poirier tonight. The Irishman returns to the cage for the first time in 12 months for his second meeting with Poirier at UFC 257.
And he will cash another huge cheque having already established himself as one of the richest athletes in the world. According to Forbes, McGregor's purse will be a record $5m (£3.65m), $2m more than he received 12 months ago for his 40-second win over Donald Cerrone.
But his overall pay will not reach the same heights with UFC 257 taking place in front of only 2,000 fans in Abu Dhabi. Once his share of the pay-per-view sales is taken into account, McGregor should top $20m compared to $30m for his last outing.
