Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.
Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.
Europa League raised eyebrows throughout the Hoops’ support. But Hazard repaid Neil Lennon ’s faith with two solid showings against the Ligue 1 giants and Kilmarnock.
Now he’s in line to keep his place for Sunday’s Scottish Cup Final showdown with Hearts. And Crosby reckons the shotstopper - who has had spells on loan at Dundee, Partick Thistle and Falkirk - is capable of holding on to the number one jersey way beyond the weekend. "Conor has all the attributes for a modern goalkeeper,” he told the Belfast Telegraph. “He is very comfortable in possession, makes important saves when required and has a very mature head on him."He knows where he wants to get to and the sacrifices he has to make to have a career in the game.
