Conan O'Brien to be Honored With Coveted Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at The Kennedy Center
justjared.comConan O’Brien is being recognized for his work in comedy. The 61-year-old talk show host will receive the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the John F.
Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. The ceremony will take place on Sunday (March 23), and will be available for streaming on Netflix on a future date. “I am honored to be the first winner of the Mark Twain Prize recognized not for humor, but for my work as a riverboat pilot,” Conan said of receiving the award, per The Kennedy Center’s website. Past recipients of the award include Steve Martin, Tina Fey, Will Ferrell, Jay Leno, Eddie Murphy, Bill Murray, David Letterman, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Dave Chappelle, Jon Stewart, Adam Sandler, and Kevin Hart.
In February, President Donald Trump took over the Kennedy Center, resulting in changes at the venue including firings and show cancellations.
