A pub operator championing local communities has won a prestigious award naming it the best of its kind across the country. Proper Pubs was crowned the Best Community Pub Operator at the Publican Awards 2024 last week and was recognised for bringing people together through its pubs and for raising money for local charities.
The operator, which has more than 200 pubs across England, Scotland and Wales, is behind a number of community pubs across Greater Manchester including The Town Hall Tavern in Oldham and the Lord Nelson in Gorton. It is the first time the pub company has been recognised with the prize at The Publican Awards, which are regarded as a leading benchmark for operators within the UK pub industry.
Winners are decided through a judging process that includes pub visits, interviews and a panel session with industry experts.
