Coleen Rooney shared with Fearne Cotton on the Happy Place podcast about the overwhelming emotions she faced six years ago when she and husband Wayne made a major life change.
Spilling her heart out, she recalled the moment they left Merseyside for Washington DC in 2018; it was when Wayne swapped Everton for D.C United.
Used to being surrounded by her family, Coleen opened up about the hard times adapting to US life without her tight-knit support system.
She confessed to Fearne: "I had that experience when we moved to America, we moved to America for a year and it was so hard because I'd gone from having all of that support, and I would have loved for my mum and dad to come over but I couldn't be selfish on my brothers because they look after their children as well." She further revealed her intense struggle with homesickness, which included an unexpected torrent of tears and an inability to even FaceTime her own mum.The 38 year old described the rough adjustment period.
