Cole Palmer seems to have hinted at his support for Chelsea's potential signing of Kobbie Mainoo, amid rumours that Manchester United could lose their midfield star this year.
Reports suggest that Chelsea are leading the race to sign Mainoo if a surprise departure does happen. It is understood that Mainoo is dissatisfied with United's recent contract offers as they try to secure him on a new long-term deal.
His last extension was signed in February 2023 when he was just 17. Now, with two-and-a-half years remaining on his current contract and terms that do not reflect his importance to the team, it is believed that Chelsea are keeping an eye on his situation and would move to sign him if possible.
While no moves are expected in January, the situation remains fluid. Palmer, who played alongside Mainoo for England during Euro 2024 in Germany, appears to have indicated his position.
