'CODA' Wins Big Prize at SAG Awards 2022 & Marlee Matlin Is Stunned - See The Moment Here!
justjared.comThe cast of CODA hug it out on stage after picking up the award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture at the 2022 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night (February 27). Marlee Matlin, Daniel Durant, Troy Kotsur, Emilia Jones, and Eugenio Derbez were quite surprised to be announced as the winners of the prize.
The win makes more history at the show, as CODA features a predominantly deaf cast – and they are the first to win it. Earlier in the night, Troy also made history, picking up the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role.
If you haven’t seen it, CODA centers on Ruby (Jones), the only hearing member of her family, who serves as an interpreter for the members of her family.
After joining her high school’s choir club, Ruby finds herself drawn to both her duet partner and her latent passion for singing.
