Coatbridge pupils rock out with spectacular school show

Star pupils at St Ambrose High shone as they ended the school year with stellar performances of their much-anticipated school show, We Will Rock You.They staged three sold-out shows at the Coatbridge school, delighting audiences with their version of the musical featuring songs by Queen.It even featured on-stage motorbikes loaned for the performances by a former pupil and which proved to be a popular attraction ahead of the curtain going up each night.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

The production had been launched with a spectacular flash mob performance in the school’s busy social area, marking the return of the school’s annual show for the first time in three years due to pandemic restrictions.

Joining the cast were pupils from campus neighbours Buchanan High, who took on the role – while the production raised the grand total of £1000 which is being donated to Coatbridge charity Shining Stars, a theatre group for young people with additional support needs.
