EXCLUSIVE: CNBC International President John Casey is leaving the business news network after almost 29 years, per an internal memo.
Casey told staffers the news on Thursday morning, revealing that he will be exiting CNBC’s London headquarters on November 7. “It’s finally time for me to move onto my next chapter,” he said in an email. “From my first day at EBN (the precursor to this company), I knew live business news was the place for me, and the extraordinary people I’ve had the privilege of learning from, and learning with, have reinforced that realisation for me.” A CNBC International spokesman confirmed the exit today. “John Casey informed the company today that, after 29 years, he has decided to leave CNBC to move on to his next chapter,” they said in a statement issued to Deadline. “John had many contributions and successes at CNBC helping us to become the world leader in business news.” We understand CNBC’s Senior Vice President Keith Cocozza will be based in London as a succession plan is organised.
He’ll work alongside President KC Sullivan and the senior managers team to lead the international organization in the interim.
London-based CNBC International Vice President of Events & Programming Nick Wrenn and Singapore-based Vice President, News & Partnerships Rosie Vaswani will coordinate editorial operations through CNBC Senior Vice President, Business News Dan Colarusso for TV and Senior Vice President and Executive Editor for CNBC Digital Jay Yarow for digital.
