Clyde boss Danny Lennon is reportedly one of the names attracting the interest of the Raith Rovers board as they pursue a new manager.John McGlynn stepped down as boss of the Kirkcaldy side yesterday with Falkirk expected to be his next destination. And Bully Wee boss Lennon - a former Rovers player - is among the early candidates for the position alongside former Rangers star and Kelty Hearts boss Kevin Thomson.

The Daily Express report that Lennon "has support in the boardroom", while the Stark's Park side are also considering former Dundee boss James McPake for the position.

Lennon spent six years with Rovers in the 1990s, winning the First Division title with them in 1994/95.The 53-year-old has a wealth of managerial experience having managed St Mirren in the top flight and guiding them to a memorable League Cup triumph in 2012/13.The Bully Wee beckoned for Lennon in 2019 and he has managed to get the team promoted to League One and keep them there for the last three seasons, finishing eighth this term.Only last month though Lennon put pen to paper on a new two-year deal with Clyde, keeping him at the club until May 2024, so Raith would need to pay substantial compensation if Lennon was their preferred choice.Lennon recently had dealings with Raith when Clyde sold David Goodwillie to the club.

Raith then tried to loan him back to the Bully Wee following a public outcry over the player - who was ruled a rapist in a 2017 civil court case - and his bid to return to full-time football.
