Clyde boss Danny Lennon blasted referee Barry Cook for allowing Queen’s Park’s winner to stand in Saturday’s Firhill defeat.Queen’s Park, who were reduced to 10 men in 75 minutes when Peter Grant was sent off for a foul on Lewis Jamieson, scored their winner in 59 minutes when Bob McHugh slipped the ball in the empty net after goalkeeper Josh Bradley-Hurst collided with a defender.Lennon says McHugh was in an offside position, and suggested that officials need more help when it comes to making big decisions in games.He told the club’s website: “It was a sloppy goal to concede.“To concede from the set play was particularly disappointing, and we also find ourselves on te back of another poor decision, in terms of the laws of the game.“I understand how difficult it is for referees, and what they have, and the man in the middle needs a helping hand.“We had a linesman last week that missed a goal that was well over the line [in the 2-0 win over East Fife], and today a linesman misses an opportunity where, what, did he forget the rules of the game?“There’s meant to be two players behind the ball and the goalkeeper, so we’re aggrieved by that.“What I can’t be aggrieved with is the commitment, drive and application from the players.”Lennon says seventh-placed Clyde are probably out of the running for a play-off slot, but will keep trying to finish as high up the table as they can.He said: “There are five games to go and all to play for.
