With this year being as eventful as it has been, it only seems like yesterday since we made our last adjustment to the clocks in March.But at 2am on Sunday, October 25, we will have to do it all again - but this time the clocks will be going back one hour.The move will mean lighter mornings, but the nights will unfortunately feel that little bit longer.
The moving of the clocks was first introduced in World War One, to save coal usage. Germany and Austria adopted it first. It was invented by George Vincent Hudson, a New Zealand entomologist in 1895, while British businessman William Willett is also credited with the idea as a way of getting up earlier and so having more daylight hours after work.
