Four climate change protestors have been arrested after allegedly locking themselves onto a washing machine outside a Scots oil terminal to block the entrance.Police were called to the unusual This Is Rigged demonstration at the INEOS fuel refinery in Grangemouth in the early hours of Saturday morning, after the protest began on Friday evening.
Three activists were found lying on the roadway with the appliance in an alleged bid to stop tankers going in and out the site.
The group were arrested and charged with public order and breach of the peace offences.It follows a week of action by pressure group This Is Rigged, who are calling on the Scottish Government to oppose new fossil fuel projects.
More than 30 arrests have been made this week across the Grangemouth site and at a similar terminal in Clydebank.Hannah Bright, 21, a community worker and This Is Rigged co-founder said: “These blockades are about hope over fear.
