The Olympic Games have kicked off in Paris, with the French capital hosting an epic Opening Ceremony on Friday, 26 July. Sporting events begun the following morning, with many athletes hoping to take home a gold medal.
The BBC's coverage of Paris 2024 will be led by a number of faces, including Clare Balding and Gabby Logan, but they will face restrictions due to French employment laws.The hosts will not be able to present both morning and evening coverage for the BBC, according to the Telegraph.This is due to the country's strict laws which state that workers must have a minimum of 11 hours rest between shifts.This means the same presenter will not be able to host morning and evening coverage, despite this usually being the case.
Broadcasters are reportedly concerned that employees could be prevented from working in Paris if these rules are not followed.
Gabby, 51, has opened up about the restrictions, admitting it is "quite a change". She said: “Because of the French working directive, we are not allowed to do the morning session and the evening session.They are really strict about it apparently.
