Claire Sweeney has admitted her 'Coronation Street' character will "cause some trouble". The former 'Brookside' actress is heading back to the world of soaps as long-lost mother of established character Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall), and she's given fans a hint of what to expect when Cassie arrives on the cobbles.
She told press including RadioTimes. com: "I love Cassie and I hope the audience love her as much as I do. She's vulnerable, she's troubled and she's got major problems. "As I'm reading the scripts, I want her to sort herself out because we all love Tyrone – you don't want anything to upset him, do you?
It's nice to see a different side to Evelyn as a mother as well. "Cassie is feisty and she's going to cause some trouble on the cobbles.
She's a loose cannon, but then she's vulnerable as well. " The 52-year-old star - who will make her first appearance as Cassandra Plummer in scenes set to be aired on 28 June - also confirmed her character has an addiction problem, which will play into her behaviour.
