Starting the perimenopause - the time just before the menopause - means that Claire has mild symptoms including anxiety. However, her doctor is helping her keep things under control - and she’s yet to have a hot flush.
For Claire, she’s happy to speak up and contribute to the national conversation. “It’s fantastic that women are talking about it,” says Claire. “I remember my mum going on HRT patches for hot sweats.
But I don’t remember all these conversations about menopause when I was younger. I think it’s great.” So far Claire has found herself suffering from occasional anxiety but her doctor has helped her find solutions. “I’m not in the menopause at the moment,” explains Claire. “I’m what they call perimenopausal.
