Cinema slams firebugs after kids flee movie in their pyjamas

Children who were enjoying watching a film in their PJs at a West Lothian cinema were forced to flee after louts started a fire.The kids were at Bathgate Cinema on Saturday evening with their parents at a sleepover themed screening but had to flee out into the cold on their pyjamas after vandals set fire to the cinema toilets.The cinema management called out the culprits on social media, saying they had been clearly captured on camera and reported to the police.They said: "When the fire was lit you couldn't actually see the bathroom as it was all just dark smoke, if a child had gone in there could have been a fatal incident, not only that, had our staff not acted fast, the full building could have gone up." Speaking to those who set the fire, cinema staff continued: “After setting fire to the toilets, here’s what you managed to achieve.“There were children in with their parents watching a movie in their PJs this was supposed to be a screening with a sleepover feel to it, home away from home.“What you achieved is having those children scared and out in the cold rain in their PJs and their parents gutted that they had to experience that rather than why they decided to attend in the first place.“I’m hoping this is a teachable moment here, I’m speaking directly to the mindset of these little cowards and all cowards alike, when you vandalise a business, independent or not, you’re not cool, you’re actually just showing the world how weak and pathetic you are.“On top of that we are an independent cinema, which means no funding, no financial support at all, in an industry that let’s be clear, is dying, cinemas are closing left right and centre but we stay strong and weather the storm, why?“Because we want there to be a local
