Chuku Modu Extends ‘Good Doctor’ Return With Promotion To Series Regular

deadline.comOriginal The Good Doctor cast member Chuku Modu is once again a series regular on the ABC medical drama, playing Dr. Jared Kalu.
Modu, who originally returned midway through last season as a recurring, has been promoted to regular for the upcoming seventh season, now in production.
Modu’s surgical resident Dr. Jared Kalu was a breakout character in Season 1. He got into trouble for punching a doctor who had sexually harassed his girlfriend, resident Claire Browne (Antonia Thomas) and ultimately headed to Colorado for a surgeon job.
Kalu eventually left that job to become a concierge doctor, which is how he ended up back at San Jose’s St. Bonaventure Hospital.
