Thursday, December 8 marks Christmas Jumper Day - a day where all fashion rules go out the window and tacky clothing is encouraged.

Every second Thursday of December is set aside for people to put on their most festive gear all in the name of a good cause, though the fundraising day doesn't have to be on the 8th.

This year promises to be the "best yet" edition of the event - because the UK Government has promised to match the same amount as you give.

That means every time you give £2 to Save The Children, they'll also donate £2. Schools, offices and other workplaces are encouraged to take part in the celebrations.Since it was first launched back in 2012, the event has raised over £27 million for vulnerable children all over the world thanks to an end-of-year push to make donations and have fun whilst doing it.With double the funds rolling in, Save The Children has "big plans" to help mothers and babies in Kenya get the care and resources they need. For the Scots who have maybe missed the day from their calendar, then December 8 is not the only day you can take part.
