Christian Bale transforms as Frankenstein’s monster in creepy first photos of ‘The Bride!’
nypost.comChristian Bale has come alive in his new role as Frankenstein’s monster. Maggie Gyllenhaal’s newest film, called “The Bride!,” is currently in production and stars Oscar winner Bale, 50, and Jessie Buckley, 34.
Gyllenhaal, 46, shared photos on social media of the actors in character, donning their dark and twisted looks, on Thursday.The snaps, from a camera test, show Bale with slicked-back hair, fake stitching all over his body and wearing a ratty suit.
Buckley sports a bright icy-blond wig, dark burgundy lipstick and paint splattered on her face.Penélope Cruz, Peter Sarsgaard and Annette Bening are also starring in the Warner Bros.
thriller, with the film set for an October 2025 release.The story follows Buckley as a young woman who is murdered and brought back to life in 1930s Chicago, playing the eponymous bride.The movie reunites the “Fargo” star with Gyllenhaal, who directed her in 2021’s “The Lost Daughter.”“The Bride!” is the “Mona Lisa Smile” actress’ second directorial feature.Buckley opened up to IndieWire last month about working with Gyllenhaal once again.“It is beyond my wildest dreams getting to go back and work with [Gyllenhaal] again.
