Chris Pine is opening up about his career choice in life and says that he really didn’t pick acting as the field to go into.

Instead, acting chose him. Click inside to read what Chris means… Speaking to IndieWire in a new interview, Chris explains that due to his ties to the industry through his family, acting jobs just found their way to him. “I never had a passion for acting,” he admitted. “Acting was something that seemed to pop out of nowhere and then just took over my life.

It seemed to be fated and it made a lot of sense.” He did note that he was thankful that he had that “luxury of ‘yes’ and ‘no’ for 10 years or so really” when it comes to picking his film roles, he added that “I think there’s a clarity of purpose now that I have with my work and my life.” “It is very much more me [choosing], because I just have a lot of things I’ve sloughed off.

I just know what I want. I know what I like. I know what will work for me,” he added. Chris then spoke about venturing into directing, saying he “never had a desire to direct, really, truthfully” either, but “the idea for [my directional debut] Poolman started as this little pebble in a pond.” “I go where my interest is and my interest just so happens, in the past couple years, to have been these smaller-ish films,” he concluded. Chris‘ father is Robert Pine of CHiPs fame, his mother is Gwynne Gilford who is best known for her role in Masters of the Universe; his sister Katherine is also an actress.
