Russell Crowe is said to be in talks with Chris Hemsworth to co-produce a sequel to Gladiator. The actors have spent hours talking about the idea and going over ideas for the script, it's claimed.

Crowe starred in the first film, which made $400million worldwide and secured 11 Oscar nominations after its release in 2000, as the main character, Maximus Decimus Meridius.

Gladiator 2 has been rumoured since 2018 and is said to be set around 20 to 30 years on from the death of Crowe's character, Roman leader Maximus.

And it's now claimed Hemsworth could play Maximus' son in the second movie. It was reportedly Chris' wife, Elsa Pataky, who suggested the idea.
