Chris Eubank Jr has been slammed for his choice of opponent by middleweight rival Hamzah Sheeraz, who believes that the son of British boxing icon Chris Eubank is too much of a "p***y to fight him.Eubank Jr, 34, makes his return to the ring after over 12 months out of action when he faces Polish boxer Kamil Szeremeta on the undercard of the undisputed light-heavyweight clash between Artur Beterbiev and Dimitry Bivol in Saudi Arabia next month.

The Englishman had been linked with a huge domestic bout with up and coming middleweight world title contender Sheeraz, as well as a third fight with bitter rival Liam Smith - who he defeated last year. But after announcing that his next contest will be against the lesser known Szeremeta on October 12, undefeated Sheeraz has ripped into Eubank Jr - who has only challenged for a world title once since turning pro in 2011 - for "fooling the public" once again.

Speaking to iFL TV, he said: "I was disappointed as a potential opponent, a boxing purist, a casual and a human. When you are at that level, you can't say because I have been out the ring too long I need a warm-up fight.

I give the example of Terence Crawford who didn't fight for a year and a half after the (Errol) Spence fight, but came back and fought an active, strong fighter in (Israil) Madrimov."When you compare the two it just shows you a good boxer and a great boxer.
