A coalition of 1,425 showrunners and directors has raised $2.5 million to help women gain access to abortion services in states where they’re now illegal. Organizers of Hollywood4AbortionAccess hope to raise another $2.5 million to help women across the country – not just those working in the entertainment industry. The money will go to the National Network of Abortion Funds.

Mr Gay World Foundation has sued former winner Louw Breytenbach, asking him and his publicist to “retract and apologise” for allegedly defamatory comments they made last year. South African human rights activist and TV presenter Breytenbach, was the winner of the Mr Gay World 2021 title, but resigned two months into his reign citing “value differences”. In a statement released to local media Breytenbach’s lawyer Quintin Steyn confirmed the legal action launched by the organisation.   A post shared by Louw Breytenbach (@louwbreytenbach02)Breytenbach told The Citizen that he had participated in the competition not for the title, but to use the platform to be a voice for the LGBTQI community. “There are real problems out there and we, as winners, need to get our hands dirty and work. 2022 ESPY Awards kicked off Wednesday night and honored the biggest, best and most inspiring sports stars and athletes of the year.Returning to Los Angeles, the stars were honored at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles in a star-studded show hosted by Stephen Curry.Some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment turned out to showcase the year's greatest athletes and most incredible moments in an uplifting and inspiring night of celebration and appreciation.
