Child grooming gang convict blackmailed prison inmate into sending thousands of pounds to his mum

For all the latest news from in and around Bolton, sign up for the free MyBolton newsletter A Bolton man, convicted for being part of a sick grooming gang, has had his sentence extended after blackmailing a prisoner into sending his mum thousands of pounds.

Kamran Khan, 39, is currently serving an eight-year prison sentence for indecent assault and false imprisonment, following a trial in 2018.

In the same year, he started blackmailing one of his fellow inmates at HMP Littlehey, in Cambridgeshire, Cambridge Crown Court heard.

Khan learned the inmate's son had recently been assaulted and in August 2018, he told him that if he didn’t give him £2,000, his son would be attacked again.
