A devastated dog owner has told how her Chihuahua was "ripped" out of her arms and mauled to death in front of her by an XL bully-type dog.Abby Mackinnon had been walking two-year-old Gizmo on Finnart Street in Glasgow's Bridgeton before he was set upon by the off-lead canine at 4.30pm on Monday.
The tiny pooch died at the scene and 25-year-old Abby was left with injuries to her back as she desperately tried to shield her family pet.Recounting the horror ordeal, Abby told the Record: "We were on our usual route and I suddenly heard paws scattering behind us.
I looked behind and there was a man with two dogs - one of them off-lead."It started charging towards us and its owner said: 'It's okay, he's just playing'.
It then started trying to grab Gizmo's tail and the next minute, Gizmo was out of his harness."Suddenly, he was on the ground and the other dog had dragged him over to the grass.
