Chicago Med star Marlyne Barrett has revealed the sad news that she had been diagnosed with uterine and ovarian cancer. The actress, whose character Maggie Lockwood had a breast cancer storyline on the US TV show a few years back, told People that doctors had discovered a "football-sized" tumour. "I'm an extremely private person, but I felt a responsibility to tell my story," she explained. "When my character went through breast cancer, I had a sea of people reach out to me through social media.

But we have so much more strength inside of us than we think. "After experiencing a shortness of breath and an accumulation of fluid that made her look heavily pregnant, but no pain, Barrett went to see her doctor and was told she needed "aggressive" chemotherapy.
But, thankfully, her family and the Chicago Med team have been incredibly accommodating. "I'm married to the most incredible man.
