Girls Aloud fans were treated to a blast from the past as the band reunited for 30 shows across the UK and Ireland in May and June 2024.The Irish-English girl group, who first burst onto the scene in 2002, had long been rumoured to be planning a reunion, but many fans were sceptical due to comments made by Cheryl Tweedy in a 2006 E4 documentary.
In the clip from Girls Aloud: Off the Record, Cheryl is seen walking her dog with then-husband Ashley Cole, dismissing the idea of a reunion and saying: "Can you imagine a 30-year-old 'I'm just a love machine?' Nah.
No thanks." The video has since gone viral, prompting a hilarious response from Cheryl during her recent tour. In a TikTok video shared by Lauren Faye (@laurenxfaye), Cheryl says: "There's a video floating around that is of me saying I would never perform Love Machine in my 30s." She continues: "Okay, but if we're going to go there.
Last tour, I was 29.Today, I'm 41. I never performed Love Machine in my 30s. Ha! Let's go." Fans were left in stitches by Cheryl's witty comeback, with many praising her youthful looks at 41.
